Teacher Resource Kits
Teacher Resource Kits are onsite teacher resources to enhance the educational experience of a field trip to the South Carolina Aquarium. They come in three categories; scavenger hunts, exhibit activities and discovery bins. All activities are designed to be led by the school teacher at the Aquarium with preparation materials in the below tabs.
Scavenger hunts have been designed to allow students to interact with the Aquarium’s exhibits. Choose from 2 options per grade level depending on how much time you have to tour. You can print these and bring them with you or add it to your reservation in advance if you would like us to have them printed and ready for you at arrival. Call (843) 577-FISH (3474) to add them to your reservation.
These scavenger hunts are designed to take 30 minutes to 1 hour.
These scavenger hunts are designed to take 1-2 hours and meet South Carolina grade level science standards.
Exhibit activities will allow deeper exploration at an Aquarium exhibit that matches grade level standards. Each activity was designed to take 15-20 minutes for groups of up to 8 students. We suggest having one teacher stationed at the exhibit and have your chaperoned groups rotate through every 15-20 minutes.
