You provide the love, we provide the expert care!

Adopt your favorite animal at the South Carolina Aquarium and support our animal family. Your adoption dollars help feed and care for the many animals here at the Aquarium. In addition, your contribution helps fund our conservation and research efforts at the Aquarium and around the world. Adoptive parents receive a certificate of adoption with a color photograph of the adopted animal, a fact sheet on the adopted species and a bumper sticker to proudly display you are an adoptive parent.

Anyone can adopt an animal – children, parents, grandparents, clubs, school classes or community groups. Adoptions make great gifts for holidays, birthdays, anniversaries or any special occasion.

To Adopt A Stranded Sea Turtle

Support our Sea Turtle Rescue program
by adopting a stranded Sea Turtle.

For $100, you will receive these benefits:

Adoption Certificate and Photograph - A personalized certificate with a color photograph.

Fact Sheet – Interesting facts about our sea turtle hospital and the patients we treat.

Bumper Sticker – A special decal designating you as a South Carolina Aquarium adoptive parent.

Admission Tickets - Two complimentary tickets so you may visit the South Carolina Aquarium.

Subscription to Tributaries - A one year subscription to our quarterly membership magazine that includes information on upcoming events, programs and promotions.
Quarterly Stranding Updates – Email updates letting you know of the progress of our stranded turtles.
Invitations to Turtle Releases – Advance notification and an invitation to attend our turtle releases.

For $250, you will receive all of the above benefits, plus:

Turtle Hospital Tour – A private tour of our facility for you and three guests.

For $300, school classes can adopt a stranded sea turtle and will receive the above benefits, plus:

Turtle Hospital Tour – A tour of our facility for a class of 30.
(this 30-minute tour does not include admission to the Aquarium.)

You will receive your Adopt an Animal package in 2 to 4 weeks. Adoptions are good for one year and are non-refundable and non-transferable. Because Aquarium animals are living creatures, they are subject to illness or death and may be moved from the Aquarium or taken off exhibit.

Due to popularity, some animals may have more than one adoptive parent. All the adopted animals remain in the care and custody of the South Carolina Aquarium and no ownership rights are conferred. We provide the expert care for your adopted animal.

Adopt an Animal is a program of the South Carolina Aquarium and contributions may be considered fully tax-deductible.
