Great Ocean Tank:

Explore the deep waters off the South Carolina coast in theOceanAquarium's largest exhibit, the Great Ocean Tank. Holding over 385,000 gallons of saltwater, this tank is home to hundreds of fish including sharks, amberjacks, pufferfish and even a 250-pound loggerhead sea turtle.

Stingray Encounter:

An immersive exhibit with expansive views of theCharleston Harbor, students will feel as if they are kayaking through the saltmarsh tidal creeks of the Lowcountry. Catch a glimpse of shoreline favorites such as herons, diamondback terrapins, blue crabs, as well as more than 25 stingrays in a new 6,000 gallon tank!

Albino Alligator Experience:

A rare ghost of the swamp, don't miss the Aquarium's albinoGator American alligator. This light-sensitive creature is one of fewer than 50 living albino alligators in the world. Students can learn about American alligators and their unique adaptations.

As Far Away as You Can Get - Close to Home

Coming in Spring 2012, travel to a land far beyond our shores on the new Madagascar Journey. Unequalled in its rich biodiversity, Madagascar JourneyMadagascar is home to more endemic species of plants and animals than anywhere else in the world. Explore Madagascar's various habitats, vibrant flora, and natural secrets, then come face to face with lemurs, eye to eye with chameleons, and nose to nose with some of the world's most colorful fish.

There are several other exciting exhibits at the Aquarium. Themed as 'From the Mountains to the Sea,' students can see and learn more about river otters in the Mountain Forest, snakes and owls of the Piedmont, shoreline residents and schooling species of the Coast, and some of the popular ocean species off our coast in the Ocean.
