Welcome
to the South Carolina Aquarium Online Curriculum for Kindergarten-Second
Grades. The theme for this grade group is "Habitats";
all activities presented here teach concepts that build on this
theme. These activities are intended for kindergarten, first,
and second grade teachers. All activities are based upon South
Carolina State Science Standards, and each activity contains
procedures, materials lists, standards addressed, assessments,
background information and resource lists. The following is

Activities: Each of these activities covers a different
concept related to habitats. Together they form a comprehensive
unit that will prepare students for their visit to the Aquarium.

the Aquarium: An overview of the activities kindergarten-second
grade students will be participating in at the Aquarium who
are visiting as part of the Structured School Program.

Activity: An activity that synthesizes the students'
learning by involving them in conserving local habitats.
