Juvenile Sea Turtle

< BACK
Female loggerhead sea turtles lay about 125 eggs in nests on sandy beaches of South Carolina and other southeastern states. The eggs need to be in an area that is above the normal high tide line. Unfortunately, many beaches have been changed as homes have been built near or on the beaches. Sometimes these beaches are changed so much that there is no place for the turtles to lay their eggs. Many towns and cities now have methods of building new homes that save habitats like the beach.
