Spartina grass in the Saltmarsh

< BACK
Saltmarshes in South Carolina are often filled with saltmarsh cordgrass. There can be acre after acre of this grass growing in the mud of saltmarshes. Plants like saltmarsh cordgrass make food through the process of photosynthesis. This process requires sunlight, and saltmarshes are exposed to lots of sunlight. This means that the plants of saltmarshes produce a lot of growth very quickly.
