Each day, in the Great Hall, we bring out a different
feature animal for an up-close look.
Nature Discovery, 10:30 a.m.
Join us in the Great Hall to get hands on with nature!
Activities could include owl pellet dissection, sifting for shark teeth,
identifying fish from the harbor and much more!
'The Pisces Right' Dive Show, 11 a.m.
At this fun, game show dive program you’ll join Bob Sharker
to learn all about our Great Ocean Tank and its residents.

All About Alligators: A Blackwater Swamp Program, 12 p.m.
Learn jaw-dropping facts about alligators, including Alabaster,
our albino alligator.

Behind-the-Scenes Tour of the Sea Turtle Hospital, 12 p.m. *
Visit South Carolina’s only Sea Turtle Hospital and take an up-close look at our current patients. Discover the special care sick and injured sea turtles receive.

Saltmarsh Show, 1 p.m.
In our Saltmarsh aviary you’ll find out why this unique
habitat is so important to our coast.

at this fun, interactive dive show.

Read your way to the Aquarium with Charleston County Public Library‘s free summer reading program for children ages 11 and younger. Your child can register at any CCPL location and receive a summer reading log to keep track of reading time. When each level is completed, you child can turn in their log for fantastic prizes! July 27 - Middleton Place: A Sustainable Seafood Initiative Dinner

Savor the past while helping sustain the future of the coast at Middleton Place Restaurant, a two-time Sustainable Seafood Initiative Partner of the Year. Executive Chef Brandon Buck will prepare a delicious assortment of seafood dishes paired with wine. Throw your fins in the air, it’s time to party! Local bands Moxie, Jordan Igoe and Brave Baby will be putting on live music as you enjoy hors d’oeuvres and libations provided by Charleston Harbor Fish House, High Cotton, Victor Social Club and Palmetto Brewing Company. Tickets are $35 each or $30 for Aquarium members.
Must be 21 years of age to attend. This indoor event is rain or shine.

August 1-10 – Shark Week

“Chum” play with us as we honor one of the ocean’s oldest and most fascinating predators!
Fun awaits you around every corner during Shark Week. Create your own shark art masterpiece, test your jumping ability compared to a shark’s, and join our skilled divers by the Great Ocean Tank as they swim among the sharks at an exclusive shark-themed dive show. Find the “Shark on the Shelf” hidden in the Aquarium’s exhibits to take home a special prize! You’ll be an expert on the ocean’s apex predators after visiting the shark education stations throughout the Aquarium. And before you leave, don’t forget to take a #FishFace photo in the massive jaw of a Megalodon.
Shark Week activities are free with general admission or membership.

August 14 – Seining Program: A Members-only Program – SOLD OUT

Back by popular demand! Assist the Aquarium staff as we search the shallow waters of the Wando River for sea creatures. We’ll drag a large net called a seine and collect fish, crabs and other surprises. Our educators will show you the secret lives of fish, seashells and other dwellers as we walk along.
