Sustainable Seafood Dinner at Fish
Thursday, May 23, 2013 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Where: Fish Restaurant
Enjoy local sustainable seafood while you learn how your seafood choices today can ensure healthy fish for the future. Ten percent of the proceeds from the dinner will benefit the Aquarium’s Sustainable Seafood Initiative, a conservation program.

Summer Kick-off

Where: South Carolina Aquarium
Join us May 25th for a full day of activities to kick-off summer! Be the first to see our 2 new 4-D movies and our new Animal Care Exhibit. Get hands-on with our resident animals, learn all about land and sea turtles with special education stations and more!

Educational Vessel Discovery – Trawl and Dolphin Watch
Friday, June 14, 2013 10:00 am - 11:30 am
Where: Charleston Harbor
Join us for this one-of-a-kind boat tour around the Charleston Harbor in partnership with the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR) and the Marine Mammal Division of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association (NOAA). We’ll embark on the SCDNR’s Discovery and explore the Charleston Harbor. Briana Kloc, with NOAA's marine mammal sentinel project, will be presenting information on local dolphins and the environmental impacts they are facing. Learn why studying dolphins is important and how their research relates to humans! We will talk about life history, identification, and contaminant sampling. All participants must be at least 10 years old.

Join us in our new Madagascar Journey exhibit to learn about the leapin' lives of lemurs! Then crawl into a special pop-up bubble to get eye to eye with your new furry friends!


   Nature Discovery
Location - Great Hall
Monday-Sunday, 10:30 am - 11:00 am
Join us in the Great Hall to get hands on with nature! Activities could include owl pellet dissection, sifting for shark teeth, identifying fish from the harbor and much more!


   The Dr. Gill Show
Location - Great Ocean Tank
Monday-Sunday, 11:00 am - 11:30 am
Join us at the Great Ocean Tank for a fun, interactive television show style dive program! Learn all about the animals that live in the tank and find out more about misconceptions surrounding their species!


   Behind-the-Scenes Tour of the Sea Turtle Hospital
Location - Sea Turtle Hospital
Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, 11:30am - 12:00pm
Visit South Carolina's only Sea Turtle Hospital and discover firsthand the extraordinary care that is provided to sick and injured sea turtles in an unforgettable experience! Adult: $10, Child: $5 after General Admission or Membership.


   Animal Encounters: A Great Hall Live Animal Program
Location - Great Hall
Daily, 12:00 pm - 12:20 pm
You never know what you might see during this live animal program. Aquarium staff will help you learn about the featured creature of the day.


   All about Alligators: A Blackwater Swamp Program
Location - Blackwater Swamp Exhibit
Daily, 1:00pm - 1:20pm
Join educators and staff near the Blackwater Swamp to learn all about alligators! Learn what makes Alabaster translucent and about the American alligator species!


   Behind-the-Scenes Tour of the Sea Turtle Hospital
