South Carolina Sea Turtle Nests

You might see orange signs along the dunes marking turtle nests throughout the summer. South Carolina Loggerhead turtle nestbeaches are nesting grounds for loggerhead sea turtles, and even an occasional leatherback sea turtle nest. Sea turtles are threatened animals, so be careful around their nests. Keeping our beaches free of obstructions during nesting season is an important way to help baby sea turtles survive and reach the ocean.
