9/1/2010 Dora the Explorer Day at the South Carolina Aquarium
— Join the South Carolina Aquarium for an adventure-filled Saturday with Dora the Explorer on September 11 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Included with general admission or membership, families can meet their favorite Nickelodeon character Dora the Explorer, sit on her lap and snap a personal photo, or purchase a photograph of their child with Dora professionally printed and packaged on site.
8/25/2010 Making a Splashing Exit
As the summer nesting season draws to an end, two patients of the South Carolina Aquarium Sea Turtle Rescue Program have been cleared for release by the Aquarium’s veterinarian Dr. Shane Boylan, and are ready to return to the ocean. Scheduled for Saturday, August 28, 2010 at 4 p.m. at the Folly Beach County Park, folks will not want to miss seeing the 53th and 54th rehabilitated turtles make a splashing return to the sea.
8/24/2010 First Rehabilitated Turtle Found Alive and Well
- The long-term value of rehabilitating sea turtles was substantiated on July 5, 2010 when the first loggerhead rehabilitated at the South Carolina Aquarium was recaptured nearly 10 years after it was released from what has developed into a full-fledged Sea Turtle Hospital. This loggerhead, dubbed "Stinky" by the Aquarium's animal care staff, was recently recaptured a few miles off central Georgia by the R/V Georgia Bulldog during a regional turtle trawl survey managed by the South Carolina Depa

Over four weeks and with 570 votes, alligator admirers selected Alabaster as the winning name for the South Carolina Aquarium's newest resident, the albino alligator.
