A Big Send-off for Seven of the Most Endangered Sea Turtle Species! Surely a sight to see! Seven of the most endangered sea turtle species successfully rehabilitated at the South Carolina Aquarium’s Sea Turtle Rescue Program are ready to hit the open ocean once again. The sea turtle release which is open to the public, is taking place at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 18th at Beachwalker County Park on Kiawah Island.

Mark Your Calendar, the First Sea Turtle Release of the Season is Set! May 23rd is the big day! Three sea turtles rehabilitated at the South Carolina Aquarium’s Sea Turtle Rescue Program are being released back into the Atlantic Ocean. The sea turtles being released suffered from a variety of injuries including entanglement and cold stunning. Join us at the Isle of Palms County Park at 4:00 p.m. for the first release of the season.

A Healthy Sea Turtle Back in the Open Ocean! After almost five months of expert care, a 75-pound juvenile loggerhead sea turtle is once again swimming in the Atlantic ocean. Buxton was brought to the South Carolina Aquarium’s Sea Turtle Rescue Program in January of this year along with two other loggerheads found on the coast of North Carolina.

Ted Turner the 2013 South Carolina Aquarium Environmental Stewardship Award Recipient Join the South Carolina Aquarium and conservation-focused residents of South Carolina for the Aquarium’s largest annual fund-raiser, the Oceans Gala. This black-tie event, taking place April 27, 2013, recognizes individuals and organizations that have worked to protect the environment and our oceans. This year the South Carolina Aquarium will present its Environmental Stewardship Award to Robert “Ted” Turner III.

Pane e Vino Set to Host the Next Sustainable Seafood Dinner Pane e Vino’s Italian food is so deliciously authentic that you might think it was pulled straight out of the Mediterranean Sea. In fact, it’s even better: local and sustainable. Pane e Vino is providing their guests with the freshest local seafood available by co-hosting a seafood dinner on August 28, 2012 with the South Carolina Aquarium’s Sustainable Seafood Initiative.
