Learn about the island’s animals with an up-close encounter, where students could meet creatures like hissing cockroaches, tomato frogs, a Dumeril’s boa, and other unique island creatures. |

Examine the habitats of South Carolina and the unique species that live in each one. Get a close-up look at how some of your favorite animals have adapted to their specific homes. Adventures in Madagascar: Do cockroaches hiss? Why is a frog named after a vegetable? Investigate some of the world’s most unique species, from the world’s most diverse island, Madagascar. Come eye to eye and nose to nose with distant species and learn how they survive in this far away habitat. |

Madagascar Mysteries: Animal mysteries abound on the diverse island of Madagascar. From animals with sticky spit to animals that disappear into the ground, learn about the unique adaptations animals have acquired in order to survive in the Madagascar food chain. |
Middle School90 minutes$7 per student + admission (min. 15 students) E.S.I. – Environmental Scene Investigation: The test results are in, and the outlook is not good. Where did this contamination come from? Did someone make a fatal mistake? Run lab tests, examine case studies and analyze data to uncover who is to blame for an unexplained watershed contamination. Students become investigators in this environmental mystery and look for solutions to keep the watersheds of South Carolina clean. |

Sea Turtle Emergency Room:
The call comes in your office; an injured sea turtle is in transit to your facility. As a sea turtle biologist, what do you need to do to ensure the turtle will survive? The pressure mounts as you examine x-rays, sift through fecal samples, run blood tests and observe external injuries. Help determine why this turtle washed ashore, the best treatment for this case, and how you can help prevent future strandings.
