Through our Diamondback Terrapin Conservation Program, we promote the use of Turtle Excluder Device  (TED) to help ensure turtles are not accidentally captured or harmed by recreational crab traps. Learn more

The Aquarium's Sea Turtle Rescue Program is the only rescue and rehabilitation center dedicated to the protection of sea turtles in South Carolina. The Sea Turtle Hospital is responsible for acring for sick and injured sea turtles and releasing them back into the wild. 
The South Carolina Aquarium successfully estblished the Sustainable Seafood Initiative (SSI) to promote ocean conservation and enviromnemntatlly-responsible seafood choices throughout the Lowcountry. You can support sustainability by visiting one og over 80 rrestaurant and retail SSI partners.
